Painting Complete!

The room after we cleaned but before we started painting.

Masking for the ceiling paint job

Ceiling complete.

Top section (first coat)

Top Section finished, first coat bottom section.

Yeah, we're done! (Guy just needs to replace the outlet covers.)

Alternate view

Took us awhile, but we finally got the hang of it. Still, we don't plan to quit our day jobs anytime soon.
We learned a lot. Guy has painted more than I have, but he learned a lot about masking.

Here's what I learned:
  • There are WAY too many colors to choose from.
  • The roller holds a lot of paint.
  • If you keep rolling over wet paint, you will eventually start taking off that paint.
  • You WILL get paint on yourself
  • Must press hard when rolling.
  • Buy paint with primer in it. Saves a lot of time!
  • Paint dries quickly in 90+ degree weather.
  • A gallon of paint doesn't cover as much as it says on the can.
  • It will take longer than you think.
  • I enjoy painting (in moderation!) :)
