I arrived back home this afternoon. I stayed with Mimi for the last two nights, after everyone else had left. I enjoyed doing it, and I think she was happy to have me there. I also used the opportunity to observe her to see how her behavior was. I noticed that she was moving more slowly, but she still carried on. She did dishes, cleaned up, watered, got the paper etc... In other words, life goes on.
She is such a wonderful grandmother, mother, sister and friend. I am so lucky to have her in my life. Even though I know that there is a gaping hole in her life and her heart, I just hope she realizes that the rest of us still need her very much. I suppose she is now the head of the family. She's definitely been through a lot during her lifetime and is definitely a trooper! I love her so dearly! Can't wait to see her again this weekend.
