Bridal Showers

I went to my cousin's baby shower a few weeks ago in the Bay Area. It was a beautiful day and a lovely event. However, I realized that this was not something I wanted. I really didn't want to have a bridal shower. I don't like attention, and feel like I don't "need" anything, and I'm no spring chicken.

When my best friend at work asked if it would be okay if she did something after work, I figured that would be perfect - low-key, and anyone who wants to come, can. So that is happening in a couple of weeks.

Then, another co-worker asked if they could take me out for drinks one night after work. Well, I already agreed to the first shower so I must agree to this one. I have no idea if it will be a "party" or what. But it still seems mellow (I hope). This will be the night before we head out for the "wedding weekend". I'll try not to overdo it...

I am very appreciative of my friends and co-workers who want to celebrate this special event in my life. Still, the older I get, I realize I have strong preferences about what is comfortable for me. I do appreciate that they know me well enough to ask and not surprise me. Thanks friends!!!! :)
