Wedding Rings

Yesterday we survived a trip to the mall. I can't recall the last time we went there, but it was crazy!! Making my way through the gauntlet at the makeup counters at Macy's was a feat to be admired. Both Guy and I were frazzled by the time we left.

But the good news is that we learned a lot about what kind of ring Guy wants to buy. He confirmed his size, then had to decide what thickness he wanted (4mm, 5mm, etc...) He wanted something plain, but wasn't sure what type of metal to go with. I had no idea there were so many options - in addition to yellow gold, white gold and platinum, there are titanium and tungsten. What??? Finally, you have to choose 14K or 18K gold. All four jewelry stores we visited at the mall had 14K gold, stating that most customers didn't want to pay the extra $$ for 18K, but that they could order them. We learned about the properties of different types of metals, and once our heads were full of information, went to Togo's for lunch!

At home, Guy did some research online, and found a company to purchase his ring from with a great warranty, better price, and overnight delivery. He ordered it so we should see it very soon! My rings are being resized and I'll get them back for the brunch on Saturday.
