Not sure, but I'm toying with the idea that by forcing myself to write about daily events, I'll help preserve my memory. Do you ever come across words that you "think" you know, but want to double-check? The Merriam-Webster's 11th edition dictionary is highly recommended.

The Green Guide (I'm afraid to eat meat, clean the kitchen, wash my face or brush my teeth now, due to all the "evil" chemicals in the food supply, shampoo, soap, household cleaners, etc...
This is a series on NPR I've been listening to during the last three years. the first volume includes some of the best essays from the original 1950's Edward R Murrow series and from the present. The second just includes current essays. All are thought-provoking and you can dip in and out at leisure. NPR sells it on their site or you can always borrow from your local library! I even submitted my own essay to the program (unfortunately it was not selected for on-air broadcast). I highly recommend that everyone do this at least once. You'll learn a lot.
